The Kanthaka Dharma Center

It is important to remember that to Buddhist faith traditions are as diverse as those in the Christian or any other faith group community. Practitioners may follow Mahayana, Varjayana or Theravadan traditions; and, within these groups there are various differences to be recognized as well.

While it can be said that "all is Dharma", how each practices can vary greatly. From the Zen student that it may be said seeks Enlightenment on his pillow, to the follower of teachers that advocate Engaged Buddhism, the spectrum is a diverse as that from Catholic to Pentecostal. A Buddhist Dharma Center in Colorado needs to be comfortable addressing each school and tailoring programs that will appeal across those lines of diversity.

Within the network established by the Center is a small group of Buddhist practitioners joined together by their ordination within the L.A. Buddhist Union and the International Order of Buddhist Ministers.

In arranging for guest speakers and visiting teachers, Rev Scorsine will be able to secure appearances by dignitaries across all schools of Buddhism, thereby ensuring the inclusiveness necessary for a program that needs to be multi-denominational. This will be accomplished both by direct relationships with nationally prominent speakers and teachers as well as through partnering efforts with the local Sanghas.

As events are developed, details will be posted on our News & Events page.
